چکیده

Introduction RGD peptidomimetics conjugated to Inand Y-DOTA complexes, and to Gd-DTPA complex, have been recently developed to target the αvβ3 receptor. In this work, we describe the grafting of a new RGD peptidomimetic on ultrasmall particles of iron oxide (USPIO) coated with 3,3’-bis(phosphonate)propionic acid in the context of magnetic resonance molecular imaging. The grafting rates have been evaluated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) while the USPIO-g-Mimic have been characterized by photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS), magnetometry and NMR relaxometry. Finally their ability to target leukemic cells was also analyzed.

Potential positive MRI contrast agent based on PVP-grafted superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles with various repetition times

Objective(s): The present study aimed to evaluate the capability of synthesized and modified superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) as the positive contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by investigating the effect of repetition time (TR) on the MRI signal intensity. Materials and Methods: SPIONs were synthesized using the co-precipitation method, and their surfac...

Noninvasive monitoring of early antiangiogenic therapy response in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma xenograft model using MRI with RGD-conjugated ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles

PURPOSE Arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD)-based nanoprobes allow specific imaging of integrin αvβ3, a protein overexpressed during angiogenesis. Therefore, this study applied a novel RGD-coupled, polyacrylic acid (PAA)-coated ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) (referred to as RGD-PAA-USPIO) in order to detect tumor angiogenesis and assess the early response to antiangiogenic tre...

Systematic review: Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide nanoparticles as contrast agents in diagnosis of multiple sclerosis

Several MRI contrast agents (CAs) are used in medical diagnosis that gadolinium (Gd3+) is the most widely used as contrast agents. Unfortunately, its toxicity is due to its inefficiency. In this review, we discuss about the ability of SPIONs in MRI and application in Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) such as magnetite nanoparticles are used as goo...
